Becoming Wholehearted

We work with young adults who are seeking healing and guidance in their walk toward union with God.

"Happy are those who keep His decrees
who seek Him with their whole heart"

   - Psalm 119:2

Each of us is on a healing journey. Healing means "to make whole." We all desire a life of abundant love and security, but we are often seeking it in the wrong place. We all suffer from a deprivation of love that has pierced our hearts, leaving wounds that often become part of our identity. We develop coping strategies to try to feel better from the pain of the wounds. These can be disordered patterns of thought, beliefs, behaviors. On the surface, this looks like resentment, habitual sin, addictions, outbursts of anger, breakdown in relationships, internalized negative beliefs about self, and so on. Everyone experiences this in some form. These things are not who we are; they are just symptoms of a wound that can only be healed through the soul's union with God. Becoming Wholehearted means becoming one with Jesus Christ.

At Wholehearted, we help people let go of the layers of their false identities so they can heal from their wounds and become who and what they were created to be. We are made to be children of God. This means our true essence is love and trust in God, like little children who depend on their parents for everything with gratitude and simplicity. Every soul is "fearfully and wonderfully made" with a unique makeup and contribution, but most are not living in the full freedom of this reality.

This is the abundant love and security we seek: to become one with Christ who is love. All that is required of us is the firm desire to become whole and the openness of heart to let Him into our most broken places. When we have this disposition, we are wholeheartedly devoted to becoming more and more united to God and serving Him faithfully.

"Teach me your way, O Lord, that I may walk in your truth;
give me an undivided heart to revere your name"

                                                                         - Psalm 86:11

Our Healing Journeys

How We Serve

We are lay missionaries who follow the exhortation of the Mother of God: “Do whatever he tells you.”
The foundation of our ministry is that we ourselves live wholeheartedly in Christ according to God’s will. We model our lives and our time after the words of Jesus: “My food is to do the will of him who sent me and to complete his work.”

Our healing ministry work typically consists of:

Counseling

We meet with individuals by phone, video call, or in person. We offer practical and spiritual guidance attuned to the particular needs of the soul.

Teaching

We teach classes and lead small groups on specific themes related to the interior life. Our teaching brings deep concepts out of abstraction through personal stories and group engagement to give each person practical help to truly heal and grow.

Community

We are part of an international community of young adults who have been called to wholeheartedly love and serve God. We host multiple weekly community nights for young adults to join in prayer and fellowship with other “all-in” souls.

Accompaniment

We walk with individuals long-term to accompany them through their challenges and trials. Depending on the needs of the soul, we often meet with them weekly or monthly, and sometimes welcome them to stay for a time of healing in person.

What We Teach

Guided by the pure truth of Catholic Tradition and Scripture, the wisdom of the Church Fathers and other prominent Mystics and Saints, we lead souls to wholeness in Christ.

We believe that every soul is called to radical holiness. It's not just for certain people who have been given special gifts or graces. It is the purpose of our existence; it is our greatest joy, and everyone is capable of reaching the heights of sanctity in this life.

Some key aspects of our healing curriculum:

  • The Sacraments (especially frequent Communion and Confession)

  • Identity in Christ

  • Rooting out habitual sin

  • Healing of wounds, not just symptoms

  • The Predominant Fault (Garrigou-Lagrange)

  • Prayer life

  • Community integration

  • Discerning God's voice

  • Purity of Intention

We have dedicated years of our lives to prayer and study. Everything we teach is faithful to the authentic Magisterial teaching of the Catholic Church. We have read extensively on the interior life, and we have put into practice what we have studied. We've synthesized our learning and healing into practical wisdom to help guide others on the way.

Inside of a Church

"As the fire transforms the wood into itself, so does love transform the soul into God."
